REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEM

The water to be treated is pushed by a pump which exerts a pressure higher than the osmotic pressure towards a membrane, so as to obtain two output flows; the part of the incoming water which passes through the membrane constitutes the permeate (poor in salts) which goes for use, while the remaining part constitutes the concentrate (rich in salt) which must be discarded.
